At Authentic Arts, we are building something special on the wide-open prairie, a place where creativity, community, and South Dakota’s natural beauty come together. As a curated gallery supporting South Dakota artists, our mission is simple: remove the administrative burden so artists can focus on creating. We handle marketing, retail visibility, customer connection, and fulfillment, giving local makers a stronger platform to grow.

Authentic Arts is more than a gallery. In partnership with Missouri River Lodge and South Dakota Outfitters Unlimited, we offer immersive visitor experiences that blend art, hospitality, and the serenity of the prairie. Guests can enjoy creative workshops, plein air painting, wellness activities, and hands on sessions while others explore guided excursions like fishing, wildlife viewing, and sunset river experiences. It is a unique way to experience South Dakota, slower, more intentional, and deeply connected to the land.

Our community events, including Rooted: A Prairie Arts Weekend and Art in the Park, make the arts accessible to residents and visitors alike. These gatherings celebrate local talent, strengthen rural culture, and bring people together through creativity.

Thanks to support from the South Dakota Arts Council, we are also expanding our educational programs. From traditional art classes to practical skills like sewing, gardening, canning, and upcycling, we are helping preserve hands on knowledge rooted in sustainability and self-sufficiency. Online and video-based learning opportunities are on the way as well.

Sustainability is woven into everything we do, from repurposing materials through vintage retail and thrifting partnerships to developing pollinator habitats and healing garden spaces that reconnect people with native landscapes.
